Dr Janet Talbot-Stern
Dr Janet Talbot-Stern (B.A.,MA, MD, FACEM, FACEP, FRCEM) trained in medicine in the USA at the University of Michigan and then specialized in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Following this Janet worked at Georgetown and Washington Hospital Centre and was an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Georgetown University. Janet then moved back to Australia where she was the Director of the Emergency Department at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for 8 years. While at RPA, Janet was also a Clinical Senior Lecture in the Department of Surgery at the University of Sydney. Janet then took a 2 year NHS fellowship working in various UK Hospitals and has now returned to Sydney where she works as a Visiting Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Ryde, Bankstown and Auburn Hospitals.
Janet is a Senior Examiner for the College for Emergency Medicine in Australia and an examiner for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in the U.K. She was a member of the Australasian MCQ and OSCE committees for several years and also has a variety of publications to her name.
Janet has extensive teaching experience in a variety of programs including ALS, PALS, EPLS, APLS and EMST/ATLS. In November 2003 Janet was presented with the “Excellence in Teaching” award by the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine and she has presented at national and international Emergency Medicine conferences.
