About this Course
This course is designed to provide both novice & experienced Anaesthesia & Recovery Room nurses with greater insight into their clinical practice. This will be achieved by the presentation of a range of issues pertinent to current practice & include newer concepts & developments which will shape the future of clinical practice.
Topics will include: Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) & Pulmonary Embolism (PE), Evidence based prophylactic care, Strategies for Change Management, Blood Tests, Hypothermia, Lessons learned from the Coroners Court, Arterial Blood Gases, Fluid Resuscitation, and Nasal oxygenation delivery systems. A range of case histories will be used to provide a practical basis for many of these topics.
Additionally, this course will cover the Management and Care of Deteriorating Patients in PACU with a focus on Shock, Bleeding Post Thyroidectomy, Post-Partum Haemorrhage, & Paediatrics.
This course will also be of value to any nurse who desires to know more about the procedures that their patients are about to undergo or have undergone whilst in the operating room.
